Performance of the night in London
Gunnar immediately to control in the Octagon from the very first minute. Akhmedov tried to get in someheavy leg kicks and his strong overhand but Gunnar was never in any trouble. Gunnar was continually feinting and looking for opening and when it showed itself he threw a straight left and rushed in with Omari going to the ground. From there Gunnar moved into sidecontrol and then straigh into full mount. From that dominant position Gunnar patiently broke the Russian fighter down by dropping some heavy elbows and punches.
With only about 30 seconds left of the round Gunnar gave up the mount only to attack Ahmedov neck securing a guillotine choke forcing the submission from the Russian 4:36 minutes into the first round. A great win that won him performance of the night in London.
