Gunnar up a weight class at ADCC 2011
Gunnar has decided to move up to the -88 kg weight class at the ADCC 2011 that will be held in England later this month. This might sound strange to many knowing that Gunnar walks around 81-82 kg but the reason for this lies in the new weight rules of ADCC saying fighters will weigh-in on Friday 23rd of September and just before their first fights on 24th and 25th of September. The weigh-ins is strict and there will not be any weight allowances. Gunnar does not like to cut too much weight and even though he could easily get down to 77 kg, he would rather be lighter in his weight class than have to worry about holding the weight all weekend and possibly be dehydrated because of that. This is completely his decision and the ADCC was kind enough to let him move up a weight class.
