Gunnar gets an invitation to ADCC 2011
We are very pleased to confirm that Gunnar Nelson has received an invitation to compete at the ADCC 2011 that will be held in Nottingham, England, on September 24-25 this year. As most of you know ADCC is the toughest submission grappling event in the world and is held every second year at different places all over the world. Gunnar will be competing in the -77kg weight class this time but when he competed at the ADCC 2009 (in Barcelona) he was in the -88kg weight class (even though he weighted just around 80kg) because the -77kg division was full. In 2009 Gunnar lost a very close judge decision against James Brasco in the -88kg division after double overtime but he made a great comeback in the absolute division where he finished 4th beating some very tough opponents in Jeff Monson and David Avellan. Gunnar says he is very proud and honored to get an invitation to ADCC 2011.
